Chutzbah (Or Lack Thereof) by Cia Gladden

My Courage hides behind
the skin of my face
(clinging like a wet blanket)
where no one can see it.

It curls up behind my ears
to take a nap
behind my meek mouth.

It is never awake
when I need it.

I pinch
pinch
pinch
but it only yawns
and slips back under the covers.
